Why We Serve
Arkansas Family Supports began with something more powerful than a business plan. It began with love, family, and the belief that every person deserves the chance to build a life that feels like their own.
When Jeff Lambert founded AFS in 2015, the mission was deeply personal. His sister lived with an intellectual and developmental disability and relied on Waiver Services to support her independence. What Jeff learned from walking alongside her became the foundation for AFS.
Her story still guides us today. It reminds us to look beyond diagnoses, service plans, and lists of supports and see the whole person. Someone with strengths and hopes. Preferences and choices. Relationships and dreams. Someone whose voice deserves to be heard.
That is why we believe meaningful support begins with relationships. It means listening before assuming, supporting without taking over, and creating opportunities for people to experience greater independence, dignity, and belonging.
